Gretsch 1959 Penguin G6134 CS Masterbuilt Stephen Stern Seafoam Relic Gretsch builds great guitars, but the Custom shop USA department is just of another level. The Guitars made by masterbuilder Stephen Stern are rare and Unique. You won't see the likes of this one anywhere in the world. That amazing Seafoam finish adds to the dignity of the Penguin in a unique way. Just have a look at that perfect 'relic' paintjob, the gold sparkle binding, logo inlay, the fretboard inlay and of course that beautifully done 'worn' hardware. The Penguin’s highly-resonant chambered mahogany body is capped by an arched maple top for a playing surface that’s as comfortable as it is gorgeous. Dual High Sensitive Filter’Tron humbucking pickups generate pure harmonically and volume balanced tone that’s as raucous or refined as you need. This flexible tone is channeled by the standard Gretsch control layout—volume controls for each pickup, a master volume control, three-position pickup selector switch and the famous Gretsch three-position tone switch on the upper bout for instant access to eminently useful voicings.Enjoy a comfortably familiar playing feel from the standard “U”-shaped neck profile—comfortable for chord and melodic playing alike—while the 12”-radius bound ebony fingerboard with pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays is designed for fleet playing across the 22 medium jumbo frets. A touch-sensitive Bigsby B3G vibrato tailpiece is near to hand to embellish your playing with style and grace while the gold plated bridge and Grover Imperial tuners work in concert to ensure your instrument stays in tune all night long. Gleaming under the spotlights, this instrument is a true performer, designed to take center-stage and shine. There’s no mistaking the bold style as anything less than Gretsch—gold hardware, gold sparkle neck and body binding, jeweled golden “G-Arrow” control knobs and gold plexi pickguard with gold Gretsch logo combine for a look that’s as rich as the sound. Destined to astonish the audience’s eyes and ears, the G6134-CS Penguin is a guitar for those who demand the ultimate in playability and style melded with That Great Gretsch Sound!
