For sale is my GIBSON Historic Custom Shop R9 '59 Reissue VOS LEMONBURST from 2014. This has the premium grade fat flame top which are super rare and cost me $5400 brand new a couple of years ago. Only played a couple of live gigs with her. Pickups were replaced with Dimarzio Vintage PAFs 36th Anniversary Creme> These sound much better than the original stock pickups. SORRY I do not have the original stock pickups anymore. The gain is increased and the bluesy/jazz sounds are thick and round. The flame top is premium grade fat flame maple that rarely appears in nature let alone on a guitar. The colors change so vividly in different lights and has that desireable greenish hue to it. No cracks in neck or anywhere. The action is buttery smooth. My other Les Pauls never played like this!!The back covers are exotic wood (not stock) but a set of the black ones are included as well as the Gibson Historic Shop metal toggle switch cover (see pic). Back is a darker red stain which came on the 2014 models to more emulate the original R9s. VOS mean Vintage Old Stock so the finish has that glossy but not over polished look. Like a found vintage guitar. and the nickel harware is factory relic'd. Comes with a fitted hardshell case but is not the stock case. Has nickel Jim Dunlop strap buttons. Has minor pick scratches above pickup bezels and a little buck rash on the back about the toggle switch cover. Otherwise the condition is amazing.The serial number matches the certificate as you can find in the pictures. I really hate to sell this beauty but need the funds so here she is.
