GOOD CONDITION and RARE 100% Original Gibson L6-S Midnight Special electric guitar including the original yellow lined case. The serial number dates this guitar to 1974 or 1975 so this is one of the early Midnight Specials of which only 2,000 were ever made (and only 647 Wine Red guitars)!!The L6-S Midnight Special was part of Gibson's L6-S range designed in 1972, as part of a collaboration between Bill Lawrence and Gibson, and first released in 1973. There were 3 models - the Custom, Midnight Special and Deluxe and Gibson recently reissued the L6-S in 2011. Production ran until 1979 and these guitars were endorsed by the likes of Keith Richards, John McLaughlin, Carlos Santana, Al Di Meola and Paul Stanley.The Midnight Special was oddly never advertised or listed in Gibson catalogs and only 2,000 were produced. These guitars now represent great value for money for a vintage +40 year old Gibson solidbody guitar and the L6-S guitars are generally considered to be the most underrated of all the Gibson solid bodied guitars.Spec as follows;

Unmentioned in price lists, catalogs and other promotional material
This guitar is in good condition but shows some wear to the fretboard and has a few dings and scratches on the body but all are pictured. Also the 4th/D string tuner is slightly bent but still functions fine. Note that there is a bit more relief on the low E side of the fretboard versus the high E side of the fretboard; the guitar plays well but I'd recommend a setup, the high E chokes out a bit when bending the string! It is currently strung with 10-46 guage strings. Both pickups give a reading of 5.76 Ohms.The original case is also in good condition. All latches work but the piece of fabric joining the top of the case to the bottom has come away from the top - as pictured.Please see the pictures which show the condition of this guitar.
