DescriptionNew PRS Private Stock 6440 - September 2016 Guitar of the Month in stock! Inspired by a special instrument made for Carlos Santana, the Private Stock September Guitar of the Month is a 24-Fret McCarty Singlecut Trem. The classic Santana/PRS combination of a 24.5” scale length, 24 frets, and a tremolo bridge live on here, and just like Santana’s personal axe, the September Guitar of the Month features a “custom wound” 58/15 treble pickup, which is wound a little hotter for a bit more power in the bridge position. The September 24-Fret McCarty Singlecut Trem models are finished in Gold Leaf with a high-gloss nitro top coat. Each piece of Gold Leaf is applied by hand by Private Stock Director, Paul Miles. Each piece of Gold Leaf is approximately 3” by 3”. Each instrument has 25-30 pieces of 23k Gold Leaf per top. Only twenty of these instruments will be made for September 2016, commemorating Private Stock’s 20th Anniversary. The original Guitars of the Month were cased between December 1994 and March 1996. They provided the opportunity to experiment with new ideas and led directly to the creation of the Private Stock program, with the first “official” Private Stock instrument casing on April 19, 1996.   Model: 24 fret McCarty Singlecut Trem Neck wood: Figured mahogany Fingerboard wood: Madagascar rosewood with curly maple binding Top wood: Curly maple Back wood: African ribbon mahogany Headstock Veneer wood: Madagascar rosewood with curly maple binding Neck Carve: Pattern Side Dots: Black Color / Stain: Gold Leaf Fingerboard inlays: Gold mother of pearl birds Headstock veneer inlays: Gold mother of pearl Private Stock eagle with a gold mother of pearl “September” engraved banner Finish type: High gloss nitro Pickups:  Treble: Custom wound 58/15                   Bass:      58/15 Electronics: Two volume, two tone with 3-way toggle Hardware: Nickel PRS Gen 3 tremolo with locking saddles and phase III locking tuning pegs with Madagascar rosewood buttons Set-Up:  D’Addario .010 Case type: Private Stock 20th Anniversary Saxon Passion Tolex Specials: Gold Leaf high gloss nitro finish, gold mother of pearl bird inlays, gold mother of pearl “September” engraved banner, gold mother of pearl “OM” symbol on the truss rod cover as well as curly maple binding along the fingerboard and headstock veneer.
