Here is my 2002 Fender Stratocaster USA Standard. This guitar has been a solid guitar since it left the Corona plant in 2002. This guitar is one of the early revamped American Standard range back in 2000. The specification of the 2000-2007 range are, in my opinion some of the best, the body shape was corrected in this time period, the bottom tone control retained the ‘Delta’ tone feature. The routing is ready for HSH configuration if needed. I have been working and studying Fender Stratocasters for a long time and had a book published about them back in 2009, so be assured, you’re buying what the description says. The neck shape was altered also, with rounded edges for a more ‘played-in’ feel. My specific guitar has had use and a slight modification of a Seymour Duncan Lil’ 59 in the bridge position for more punch on lead tones. Electrics wise, other than the bridge pickup, the guitar is stock and works perfectly. The neck on the guitar shows very little wear, but there is some fret-wear in the middle positions, please see photos. What is a nice feature on the American Standard guitars is the 9.5” radius for modern playing and also, bigger bends! There are some small chips on the bottom of the guitar, I think this is just from general gigging the guitar hasn’t been dropped. The official Fender colour for this Stratocaster is Candy Apple Red. Overall weight of the guitar is quite light, weighing in around 8lbs. All machineheads are solid and working perfectly, there are three tremolo springs keeping the bridge at a nice “up or down” set up. The guitar has also just received a set up with gauge 10 Ernie Balls. Original moulded Fender case is present too, as is the tremolo arm. Ideally, I’d like to do cash on collection but will ship if required. Any questions or if you’d like to give it a test, please let me know.
