BLACK, BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL!Up for sale is this beautifully black Gibson SG Special 60' Tribute in worn finish. Reason for sale is I'm 'resizing' so this beauty’s got to go (see my other items too). Please consider the below description along with all the attached pics which form the all-important visual part of this listing. These are fantastic guitars, now discontinued and becoming increasingly difficult to find in any condition, let alone one as excellent as this one. Owners obviously realise how good these are and are holding onto them for a reason or three! This is a particularly nice example which I settled on after trying out no fewer than 8 or 9 in different stores. P90s are brilliant pickups and being super versatile they sound awesome in any situation.  From syrupy bluesy runs and solid chugga-chugga rhythm crunch (think The Angels or Judas Priest) to searing lead sounds that can cut through 2” plate armour.  These beauties are also capable of very nice, shimmering clean tones, should one wish to go down a 'jangly' path. The 60s slim taper neck profile is complemented by reasonably low action, providing both a very nice comfy feel and a super-easy playing experience, with chords, fast riffs and solos a breeze. Due to a reduction in my live/studio engagements over the past year I have hardly had a use for this guitar. I should mention that although this SG is a 2011 build I only purchased it in Nov. 2014 and I’ve likely played it less than a dozen times since. It still has the factory plastic protective coating on the pickguard and on the little bit of plastic between the end of the fretboard and the neck pickup!  I think anyone can see it's had a very easy life. There are a couple of minor blemishes which I knew were there when I tested (and then bought) the SG at a Canberra store. This SG felt the best I'd played in ages so those little faults didn’t warrant walking away from it.  The one on the back is most likely a belt buckle nick (with a few light scuffs around it) from a previous shopper, while I think the tiny one on the bottom edge is actually a manufacturing flaw whereby the finish kind of ‘split’ a bit for whatever reason. I’m pretty sure it’s not a dint as a dint would have left some sort of depression in the wood at that location which just isn’t there.  Please view the detailed pics as they form an integral part of the description.  I have chosen not to touch up those areas so as to leave the SG in its original condition. This SG comes in its own padded Gibson gig bag (also in A1 condition) and ‘case candy’ (i.e. Nashville factory process inspection card and genuine Gibson owner’s manual). I am happy to consider offers appreciative of this guitar’s condition and its current hard-to-get status in the market place. I haven’t seen many of these in any condition come up for sale in the past 12 months so pristine examples are a bonus to find at any time. If you have done your research and are after one of these you know this to be true. So in that context I will not bother to reply to disrespectful offers. For serious buyers - a copy of my own purchase docs (minus confidential details) can be provided upon request to demonstrate the guitar's genuine provenance.Thank you for looking.  Please message me with any questions and I’ll do my best to reply as quickly as I can. Also check out my other items as I have more ‘gems’ on sale just hanging out to find a new loving home… THE FINE PRINT:  Potential buyers with under 10 positive feedback to contact me before hitting the ‘Buy it Now’ or ‘Make an Offer’ button. I will get in touch with the buyer as soon as practical after purchase.  Payment to be made within 3 days of purchase.  Please ensure your PayPal address is accurate and current as that is the only address I will be shipping the guitar to.  Shipping will occur within 2 working days of funds clearing in my PayPal.  The guitar will be properly packed in its gig bag (strings will be slackened slightly to ease pressure on the neck in transit). The gig bag will then be most likely placed in a proper guitar shipping carton and any movement inside the carton will be taken up by filling spaces with appropriate materials. I will be using Australia Post to deliver your package. I have used them before and they have been fast, trackable, insurable and trustworthy in their handling and delivery of goods. Should the buyer wish to engage an alternative freight carrier to take care of the package, please let me know so that we can discuss the process going forward, bearing in mind that in that case the buyer becomes responsible for full payment of associated freight costs and for making all shipping arrangements including contacting the carrier and collection of the package by the carrier from my place.
