This is a very rare opportunity to acquire this wonderful 1966 Sakazo Nakade classical guitar. Sakazo Nakade is one of the most revered Japanese luthiers in history, some consider him to be the father of Japanese guitar making. This particular model features a well-aged, high grade solid spruce soundboard with 7 fan bracing and high quality solid Indian rosewood back and sides, with an ebony fingerboard and rosewood bridge. Scale length is 650mm and nut width is 52mm. This beautiful guitar produces clear, ringing trebles, very rich and resonating basses, all well-balanced with great sustain and at high volume. It is very responsive and offers excellent note separation. The tone is sweet and bright. The condition is excellent for a 50 year old guitar, but as you would expect, there are a few cosmetic issues. There is a chip in the finish on the top, as well as a small scratch. There are numerous scratches on the back. None of these affect sound or playability. Currently strung with D'addario EJ45 strings. Action at 12th fret is very comfortable at 3.5mm low E and 2.75 high E, with room to go even lower if required. I will include the original saddle, which sets the action at 4mm/3mm. Comes with a hard case in excellent condition. Available for collection from Newcastle under Lyme in Staffordshire, or I will post via Parcel force 48.
