Selling a vintage modified 1963 Gibson Melody Maker electric guitar! The guitar started life in 1963. It was modified in the 80's or 90's with a Gold Kahler tremolo system, Seymour Duncan Hot rail pickup (SHR-1), with in-phase, out-of-phase, and single coil switching. Gibson sealed tuners. The guitar was professionally refinished and it was a top notch job. you can still see the serial number on the headstock which confirms the 1963 date.
The guitar is a right handed guitar but has a brass nut which was intended for a lefty player so the large grooves are on the wrong side . I have setup the guitar for right handed use and the guitar plays and intonates well. This does not effect anything but I thought I should mention it.
Cosmetically the guitar is in very good condition with very little wear. Only a few small marks and a small ding on the side of the neck ( Please see pictures for details as a picture says 1000 words)
The guitar has a nice size medium neck and large frets. Guitar plays great! Rosewood fret board and Mahogany body and neck. Great old Gibson with a modern twist!!No case but the guitar will be packed properly for transport.
