1993 Strat Plus in Caribbean Mist.This is a genuinely reluctant sale of my first Strat. I bought in 2004 - after trying out a load of guitars it boiled down to a choice between this and a Clapton Strat and this won.Other than the Custom Shop Set Neck mahogany-bodied Strats, this is the warmest sounding Strat I've ever played. It has the signature Strat characteristics but warmer. Lead sounds are beautifully thick but with that pick attack, definition and clarity that you want from a Strat.Other than an unfortunate ding that caused a fairly significant crack in the lacquer, it's in excellent condition. There's one ding on the lower edge which does show the wood and a ding on the front edge of the headstock. Plus a couple of small lacquer chips on the top of the headstsock. There are some surface scratches in the lacquer on the back that wouldn't show in photographs. All of these marks occurred prior to my ownership, it's been well looked after.The playing surfaces are in excellent condition. The frets have minimal wear. The neck and fingerboard have a nice satin feel. The best aspect of this guitar is the tone though. To me it sounds like I want a Strat to. It's more of a blues-rock guitar than a country or rock and roll guitar. Think Hendrix, Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan rather than Hank Marvin.I've had queries about the pickups - they are Lace Sensors. Lace produced pickups with fake pole-pieces in reponse to feedback from guitarists who prefer the traditional look.Caribbean mist is a fairly rare colour for the Strat Plus - only offered for 2 years. Depending on the light it can look blue or green.The guitar is all original to the best of my knowledge.
