Here's a very cool early version of the Epiphone Elite/Elitist Les Paul.  As you may know, the earliest models were called "Elites", but due to a conflict with the Ovation Elite acoustics, they were renamed the "Elitist".This is a 2003 example with Elite on the back of the headstock.  These guitars were made in Japan by the legendary Fujigen company, who also manufactures the higher end Ibanez and other top line guitars. The idea was to produce a top quality Les Paul with USA electronics that could be priced below the USA Les Paul Standards.  The result was a guitar of amazing quality with great sound, playability and Gibson "vibe".This particular example is the "Plus" model with the flamed maple top.  The color and type of flame is very much like a vintage Les Paul or a modern 1959 Reissue.  This guitar also has the long neck tenon, which is typically only found on the higher end USA models.Electronics are USA components, with CTS pots and Gibson USA pickups that are a lot like Burstbuckers.Condition-wise, it is very nice, except for 2 noticeable dings on the headstock and a few marks on the back of the body (see closeup pics). Most of the Elite LPs weigh 9-1/2 or 10 pounds, since they are not weight relieved. This one is only 8 pounds, 10 ounces (just over 8-1/2 pounds). The case is not the original, but it is an Epiphone hardshell and is in nice condition. If you want a top quality Les Paul that plays and sounds great, this would be a great option.  Priced to sell at $999.99 - comparable guitars typically sell in the $1200-1500 range.  No offers considered at this blowout price!
