Up for sale is an amazing specimen of the early era of shred guitar. A 1982 Ibanez DT-150. This  guitar is in unbelievable shape, considering it's 34 years old! I am almost certain it was kept in it's flight case most, if not all, of those 30+ years. I'll tell you why in a sec. As stated, this guitar is in amazing shape. All original parts, except for the vibrato arm (I have since replaced the white vibrato arm seen in the picks with one with a plastic tip matching the color of the plastic on the guitar. It's just a standard Fender replacement part. Fits great.) There is no corrosion on the any of the metal hardware. The closeup of the bridge shows dust and oil smudge, not corrosion. There is only one ding on the rear horn and that happened when the guitar was shipped to me. When  I bought this guitar, it was completely free of any damage. Just amazing considering it's age. The red finish is deep and a little sparkly.  All the plastic is in great shape. The control cavity cover and vibrato cavity cover are unscratched/unbroken/unbelievable. The maple neck looks to be a really pretty curly maple. Frets are in great shape. Tunes up, plays perfect. Action was set for the string gauge. I'm guessing 9's. Why I believe it sat in it's case for decades is the foam material in the case has degraded and, apparently, reacted a bit to the finish on the neck of the guitar, resulting in a fine layer of foamy grit on parts of the neck. Up on the headstock and on each side of the finger board. I have not tried to clean it off, as I do not know enough about what finish was used on these necks and how best to remove this grit without damaging it, but it doesn't look like it'll take much at all. I have been able to rub it away with a cloth, but there's still a little something left in the finish. You should not need to (and hopefully won't consider!) sanding where the grit is. Maybe something as simple as rubbing alcohol or even a light solution of goof-off would be all that it takes. I'd check with someone who knows something about finishes before tackling this. This is purely cosmetic and does not take away from the guitars playability at all. It ships with a massive, bulletproof flight case. As noted, the interior foam's on its way out. Still supports but has degraded to the point where you can poke holes in it like planting foam. The company's still in business and I suspect you can get replacement material and build out a new foam interior. So, here it is! If you are a mid-to-late 40's person like myself, and would love to finally pick up that guitar you remember drooling over in that 1984 issue of Guitar magazine's Def Leppard spread (the one where they tabbed out Bringin' on the Hearbreak) then here is your chance! All sales final. No returns. I accept, and prefer, PayPal. Free shipping but I do not sell or ship international. Feel free to ping me with any questions.
