Up for sale is a 1974ish Fender Precision bass neck. Maple. It has some issues. It was not respected for many years and it shows. The finish has significant checking on the headstock and the fretboard finish is chipping off. There is a crack from the nut to the E-tuner (a weak area) that is in the wood but not going anywhere anytime soon. It could be glued but doesn't need it. The truss rod rosewood has a crack moving up from it (another common weak spot). This one is finish. The nut has a crack in A but seems to have been repaired so it doesn't move. The frets have no significant wear and the back of the neck has birdseye (rare). All original. The truss rod works fine; the neck has a dip around fret 13-14. Adjusting removed most of it; when played I did not find an issue. It is not unusual for Fenders in clean shape to have such issues; I don't think it is a big deal. Removed from a 1974ish.
