On Reverb dot com for slightly lower given the fees between Ebay and paypal. For your consideration is this 2002 PRS Custom 22 Soapbar, built from solid Korina, with a Brazilian board, birds inlays, a blade pickup selector switch & three Custom wound Duncan mini humbuckers. Custom built for Ralph Perucci, one of PRS first sales people and the one person largely responsible for Sam Ash's opening orders back in 1984 that launched PRS, the lead guitarist for Alien Cowboys as well as the Paul Reed Smith Band. Legend has it that Paul showed Ralph one of the PRS prototypes while Ralph worked at Sam Ash on 48th Street in NYC. From that Ralph convinced the management at Sam Ash to place their opening order. Paul returned to Annapolis with his orders in hand and convinced investors to stake money to start the fledgling company. Ralph then went on to work for PRS for almost 30 years as a sales person and studio musician based in New York City.
This guitar was built for him by Joe Knaggs and his Private Stock team and is truly a one of a kind model. It features pickups wound by Seymour Duncan himself, with the bridge pickup being the hottest at over 9 ohms. It also features mid 1960s Gibson knobs and a blade switch for pickup selection.
It is in fabulous condition and has its original case. To say that it is a superb musical instrument is truly an understatement. This guitar has rich super Strat type tones, but it can also be mellow and dark when backed off. The 22 fret neck has a wide fat carve that is comfortable and yet perfect for bending notes.
A truly one-of-a-kind guitar with legendary roots built for and owned by one of the first people to understand what PRS was about to become.
