FOR SALE: This is a 1958 Kay Barney Kessel Artist guitar, model # K6700B for blonde. This guitar is VERY rare, you will find some of the lower models, none of these...especially in blonde! This guitar features a 15 1/2" bout, pearl inlays, the full "Kelvinator" plexiglass headstock. It has the RARE and AWESOME "Gold K pickups" or " Kleenex Box" pickups. The solid spruce top is "press-arched" and superior to a laminated top, with a very vibrant and dynamic acoustic tone that translates well through the two toaster pickups. It has flamed maple back and sides, look at those pics! These rare guitars where made from 1957 to 1959. This on is numbered L8914 and the "batch number" on the back of the headstock is B-1039. It has the original Grover smooth-backed tuners, with beautiful gold lacquered tuning buttons. The neck is straight and true, has a larger "50's style" C shape. This guitar is in wonderful shape. There is some noticeable fret wear, due to this guitar being excellent. Poor guitars go unplayed. There are no buzzes/payability issues we could find, all ring true. Plenty of life left. There are a few marks, etc from a 60-plus year old guitar, no cracks or repairs of any type. The headstock is wonderful, there are two TINY splits in the plexi where the tuner go through, too small/hard to see to photograph. The pickup trim rings are bright and pretty, and the guitar is all-original as it sits. Pickups are full and rich, with nice treble. Pots all work, etc. This guitar comes with the original hardshell case, and even the ORIGINAL truss rod adjuster (shown in last pic!)
