Stringed pictures to follow. I commissioned this guitar to be built in the early 2000s because I was after a replica Red Special. At the time the only commercially available ones were the Guild copies, and they were like gold dust to find.
The body and neck are all mahogany (brazilian i think). The lacquer is polyester basecoat, red polyurethane topcoat. It's redder than the original.
Gotoh tuning pegs Ibanez lo-pro 2 trem - New black whammy arm included. Original Burns Tri-sonic pickups. This is from before they were mass produced for the Burns Brian May copies and cost nearly £300 on their own back in the day. Volume and Tone controls machined bespoke for this instrument.  Switches have been topped with white paint to match the original instrument.  It's a loving tribute to the original guitar, with a couple of changes. The Floyd Rose allows for some more hardcore whammy abuse, and the name on the truss rod cover is of the guy that made it for me. Jon Shuker at Shuker Guitars makes high end instruments, for professional musicians. Check out his website to see the quality of his instruments.  The guitar has been used on stage around the world, but has been very well looked after. The only significant mark is where at one point the singer collided with me and chipped  the front. I had this repaired and re-finished by the chap that built it. I've taken a close up, so check out the pictures thoroughly. There are the usual fine marks to the scratchplate, pickups and rear consistent with use. There is some minor buckle rash that I've tried to picture. There is a scratch in the lacquer on the front that I can't get to show up in pictures, you can only see it if you hold it up to the light at the right angle. Most sellers wouldn't point this out and just list as new. I'd rather be over honest! The nut has had a brass shim put in  underneath to get the action how I liked it, hence the nut sitting high in the slot (pictured). The frets have some wear.  It's a one off, handbuilt instrument, made using high quality parts and materials. It comes with a custom built FLIGHT CASE. This case is incredibly heavy - that is why the postage is so expensive. You are welcome to collect. I'm based just north of Birmingham in the West Midlands.
