Up for sale is a Doug Wilkes Electric Guitar . As you are probably aware Doug Wilkes is not only a superb Luthier but also a guitar innovator . The guitar dates to the late 80s and was made as a one off custom order . As you can see from the picture is a unique looking instrument and is fitted with the unique Answer Pickup System . The ‘single’ humbucker is, in fact, split into two halves which BOTH slide up and down the rails, independent of each other. This means that you can have the pickups in any position or combination of positions conceivable. You can get all the single coil Strat and Tele sounds straight away, plus those of your favorite humbucker. The switches give combinations of one or both pickups at a time, in series or parallel .The pickups move up and down the rail but are a bit stiff but the more it is used the more smooth it will become.Chunky neck and frets as in very good condition .
