Up for bidding is a luthier built Heavy Relic "Black Guard" Tele with a Matney USA Custom B Bender installed. Important Note: ***This particular Telecaster was a demo model for Matney USA Custom Bender Guitars. It was used to test different prototype benders, and as such, was subject to extra routing and extra holes being drilled. The holes and extra cavities have been plugged, filled, and painted over. The guitar is structurally sound, and the bender is mounted solidly. As far as functionality, this guitar is as good as a new one. If you don't mind the history behind this guitar, here's your chance to get a great deal on a very cool B Bender Telecaster! The body is Swamp Ash, and the neck is Maple with a maple fretboard. The neck has a heel adjust truss rod just like a vintage Tele. The vintage style tuners are economy grade tuners, but could be easily upgraded.
***Please note: THIS IS NOT A FENDER NECK OR BODY*** The complete guitar weighs in at 8.57 lbs on my digital scale. That's with the B Bender... It has a Patent Pending, Matney USA Custom B Bender . The body and bender were both Made in USA. The pickups are from GFS and provide plenty of traditional single coil Tele twang. The electronics are full size CTS pots, a vintage style blade switch, and an "Orange Drop" capacitor. This guitar comes with Schaller strap lock buttons (locks not included) and a vintage style Fender three saddle bridge with brass saddles. Matney Benders are quickly growing in popularity and reputation. Currently there are around 150 Matney Benders in circulation from California to Texas to Florida... there are even a few in other countries... and every one is a satisfied customer! Matney benders are built to last forever. I use only top quality parts. They will not fall apart. They will outlast the guitar. Matney's benders are much lighter in weight than a Fender B Bender. They work smoothly, quietly, and always return to pitch.
