Description
Brand: Kay

Up for sale is an early 1950's Kay Thin Twin Jimmy Reed model semi hollow body electric guitar. This guitar is all original and in good working condition. It sounds great with the two original pickups. These two pickups are strong! Measuring 9k ohms on neck and 10k ohms on bridge. This gives this vintage guitar a great vintage clean blues tone with good break up when driven. Sounds great on tweed style amps. The body is in great condition and the thick neck is straight with plenty of fret life. The headstock has some very very old micro inscriptions in it that give it a folky vibe. It says " Dave Everrentt Nashville tenn." and below " William Featherston" with a heart drawn around it. William Featherston was a Christian hymn writer from the late 1800's. see pictures. The headstock inscriptions are intact but look like the factory did these by hand, or Some one converted an early 1950's Kraftsman Thin Twin to the Kay headstock. I am not sure. This very cool guitar is priced at a great low price for a true vintage Jimmy Reed model. The re issues are 1,000! This comes with a hard shell non original case and leather strap.
