Serial number 007396.The cherry red finish has faded into the wonderful woody red that is the hallmark of an aged and authentic SG from the 60s. Typical marks and beautiful crazing for a 50 year old guitar; nothing serious, no breaks, no cracks nor repairs.The Gibson SG Special features P90 pickups on a resonant and seasoned light-body, result in luscious dynamic tones that range from warm clarity up to full-on screaming solos. You know when a guitar sings before it is even plugged in, it is going to be this good!Has been professionally re-fretted and setup by renown luthier Andy Gibson of Denmark Street London (original frets retained for collection purposes). Great action and ready to go. I believe the hard case is original too.I have the paperwork that traces a previous British owner that went to the USA in 1992 to purchase this as a collectable, even back then!This is both a player's guitar and a collectable. Don't let this go if you want a vintage Gibson SG Special in such rare original condition like this.I will pack very carefully for full protection, but you are very welcome to collect from South London/Surrey with cash.Please feel free to contact me for any questions or to arrange a viewing if required.
