One of the iconic guitars from the 70's/80's. This Gibson Explorer E2 came out of the Kalamazoo factory in 1979 and is presented in its original colour. I believe that this is one of the earliest examples of an E2. I will be adding more photos shortly. This guitar is by no means mint condition having been well used but not abused. There are minor scuffs throughout and the frets are nicely worn which adds real character and that genuine 'road worn' feel. The guitar retains a period strap complete with period strap buttons and locking washers. The original gold hardware is all present and correct, including the original TP6 tailpiece, and has a lovely natural patina which adds to the overall character. The nut has been changed by a previous owner however included in the sale is a brand new compensated brass nut which I never got round to fitting. The neck pickup is the original gold pole T-Top Dirty Fingers however the bridge pickup is not original but is a period correct Dirty Fingers. The pots are original. Serial No:  726390XX Made at the Kalamazoo Plant, USA September 20th, 1979
