Here's your chance at a beauty of a vintage Gibson Mandolin. 1906 F2/F4. Highly flamed maple back and sides, hand carved spruce top. And for 110 years old there is nothing out there that sounds like this. It's been my main player for the last 8 years. I just got it back from Spruce Tree music, the best luthier and acoustic music shop in the Midwest with a clean bill of health. Will reglued the block, replaced and hand carved a new bridge to fit the face, reattached the pick guard and put on a lighter gauge of strings and said it's ready for another 100 years. Purists and high end collectors need not apply, this is a players mandolin and is set up to play. Replaced tuners (much easier to use and more reliable than the original Handel tuners in my opinion), end pin added for strap usage. This 1906 originally had a black face finish, but this one was refinished sometime in the 1940's when the sunburst craze was first starting. Professional refinish, nice look. Has two professionally repaired cracks in the face. This was done before I got the mandolin 8 years ago, and have never moved. Confirmed by Spruce Tree Music. So, there you have it.
