One of 2 Icons of Rock ‘n’ Roll Electric Guitars…Gibson Les Paul & Fender Stratocaster *********************************************************************************** This is a beautiful 1968 Gibson Les Paul GoldTop with original case in excellent condition. Comes with a brand new, never used tan leather Buffalo guitar strap. Strings on it now I put on and never played years ago are new but a bit of rust on the D string (see photo) An extra new set of Fender 150L Pure Nickel Wound guitar strings will be included (.009-.042) 49 year old classic iconic electric guitar This guitar is the more sought-after two piece body with the tune-o-matic bridge All original electric guitar and case in excellent condition I am the original and only owner of this GoldTop, purchased in the summer of 1968 in Indiana I have made no alterations or adjustments of any kind to this instrument. The set-up is as it was the day it left the factory Serial #  519235 P-90  Pickups Played in a band for 2 years (Indiana) Used off and on for studio work for 18 years (Los Angeles) In its case and under the bed for the last 29 years (California and Virginia) Serious bidders’ request for more photos available upon request. These photos will all be close-ups of the below mentioned negligible cosmetic blemishes, or any specific ones you wish. Most serious blemish is the chrome flaking on the bridge...easy fix or replacement
The case is in superior condition. No rips, tears or breaks on the seams or latches of the top or bottom of the case. I wiped off the case and was happy to see how little cosmetic damage there is to it. There are a few scratches here & there, but they are negligible. Cases always take a beating, but this one did very well. I’ve taken very good care of this guitar and case for 49 years. The sides are mint, as nearly is the interior. Any cosmetic scratches are on the top or bottom of the case. There are ones like this on eBay listed at $370- $525. Please refer to the photos 2 of the tuners are bent negligibly ever so slightly…a few millimeters at worse and do not affect the instrument in any way. (See photos) Cord jack plate is a replacement. Broken original will be included. Originals are a bit thinner. (See photo) Because of its investment value, I will accept dated return of this item in received condition within 7 days of delivery to you. Return shipping, insurance and other required certification costs to be paid by buyer There are several other ’68 GoldTops up for auction comparable to this one for $30,000 & $28,000. All the other ’68 GoldTops listed have some issues or another and not at all in the same class as this one (only my opinion as concluded by the photos). This Les Paul is listed thousands of dollars below the others on eBay This guitar in this excellent condition is a bargain at this price…Must Sell! (but not given away!) Happy to answer all related questions I have not cleaned this guitar in 12 years. Having purchase many rare and vintage  Cowboy Guitars, acoustic guitars and other string instruments, I know the particular satisfaction and joy in receiving an item and then cleaning it up yourself. As nice as this looks now, it’ll look better when you’re done with it. If it doesn’t sell the first go-‘round then I’ll clean it up and re-list it…to see if that makes a difference Young Rock ‘n’ Rollers, this might be what you need as a great electric guitar when you make it sing on stage. It provides the same sounds for “living room” Rock ‘n’ Rollers as well…if the household and neighbors can take it Investors, this guitar will not de-value…one way only…up! This guitar was played on a variety of recording studio sessions by renowned guitarists. Last person as such to play it was Eric Clapton in the early ‘80’s on a session in an elaborate home studio in the Hollywood Hills This guitar and case will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail with relative insurance, tracking info, certificate of mailing and receipt signature. This shipping cost will be calculated to the 50 states and internationally. All potential bidders/buyers (no “bad” people please!), I encourage you to contact me and ask any questions or concerns you may have Payment for this item will be accepted in a fashion most convenient, secure and satisfactory for both parties As for my proudly stated negligible cosmetic blemishes…there are 2 finish cracks, a couple of nicks and some of flaking of the chrome on the bridge. I’ve never taken the back plates off, unscrewed the toggle switch, taken off the pickguard to clean underneath it, pulled off the knobs, messed with the truss rod, repaired, raised or lowered the pickup screws, upgraded/downgraded or adjusted the intonation on this fine instrument.
