Hiawatha Guitars are made in Milwaukee from hand selected woods that are shaped, lacquer finished and assembled with our own handwound pickups using high quality electronic components and hardware. Will ship in 7 business days after completed payment.
Our Vagabond Series guitars have been designed to be the best most affordable guitar on the market. These guitars share the same performance and reliability of our higher priced boutique models with high quality parts. The bodies and necks are cut and finished in our shop. This is not a partscaster. We wind all of our own pickups, spray our own finish and choose. electronics components and hardware for superior tone and reliability. Currently these guitars will only be offered in one color for each model.The bodies are made from Ash and finished with a very thin vintage butterscotch lacquer with a light relic treatment. The finish has been designed to self-relic at an accelerated rate and then stabilize. The necks are one-piece maple with a natural thin light relic lacquer finish as our body. with heel truss rod, 9.25 radius, 21 frets, black clay dots, bone nut, medium jumbo frets with a medium C neck shape that is .85" at 1st and 1" at 12th which are the direct measurements of a 1951 Nocaster we measured. All hardware is raw nickel that will age at about the same rate of our special lacquer finish applied to body and neck, vintage split tuners, control cover, bridge with brass compensated saddles, dome knobs, recessed string ferrules(prefer the look), slotted screws, jack cup and round string tree. Our Vagabond Custom pickups are wound by us using vulcanized fiberboard, Alnico magnets and plain enamel magenet wire and wax potted. We use vintage cloth hook-up leads. Choose from a Nocaster inspired set with A3/43awg 8.6K for neck, A5/42awg 8.4K Bridge that has clarity and drive. Or, A5/43awg 5.9K Neck, A5/42awg 6.2K bridge that are loud and clear, perfect for pedal heavy rigs.
The pickups are wired to full 250k CTS audio taper for volume Pot and CTS no-load for tone Pot with Black-bee paper and oil .022uf Capacitor or .047uf if you prefer.Our Vagabond series guitars include our own low-capacitance 10ft cable spec'd to work with our pickups to retain transperancy, Snark Clip-on tuner, and Custom Gig worthy bag.
