Brand: Mosrite String Configuration: 6 String

Up for grabs is an extremely rare SM Mosrite guitar (shell?) in white (an exceptionally rare - perhaps one-off - color for this model).
Guitar is set neck on a solid bass wood body, but is pretty bare bones and appears to have never been fully factory-finished. I know from speaking to people who worked with Moseley during this period of production, that very limited runs of this model were made (not even close to 100) between 1976-1978 (The New Mosrite period). The provenance I know of this guitar is that it was given to a guitar school in Arizona, the owner of which was apparently great friends with Moseley, however the reason of the exchange is not fully known. It could have been a gift of sorts, or it could've been sold unfinished as part of an attempt to keep the Mosrite business rolling in lean times. It was discovered years later lying in the back of the building collecting dust, and I ended up buying it about 2 and half years ago with the intention of finally bringing it to life. Unfortunately I just haven't had enough time or spare capital to get very far with it and now due to unforeseen circumstances, sadly, I have to let it go and let someone else continue with it and complete the job.Fortunately, I already own a SM in black, and although this white SM doesn't have the screen-print logo on the headstock, there is absolutely no mistaking the build, finish and quality handmade craftsmanship of it's Mosrite heritage. Even with most of the parts missing it feels like a great instrument and also looks and sits just like my finished SM. I was really hoping to have a black and white pair of these, but one of them has to go and it's the white one.I have included some pictures of both, so as to compare, but to clarify: the black one is not for sale and not included in this auction. It's just the white one.Since owning it I have bought a few bits and pieces to get it a little closer to being finished and those parts will be included in the sale. (The tone and volume pots came with the guitar, as did the tiny scorpion skin!).Extra parts are: NOS Mosrite selector switch-tip (fitted), NOS Mosrite strap buttons (2) with screws (2) (not fitted), new Switch-craft selector switch (fitted), and new Switch-craft 1/4" jack input (not fitted). It obviously still needs more parts, a lot of attention and work and as such is being sold as a parts/project that needs repair - all sales are final.  However when it's restored it will undoubtably be one of the sweetest and rarest Mosrites out there! Please check all photos before bidding and feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
