Description Downtown Music Sydney for New, Custom Shop, Vintage and Used Fender Guitars, Basses and Amplifiers. DMS is proud to be an Authorised Fender Dealer. On offer is a 1983 Fender USA Precision Bass, it has an E3 serial number on the headstock, the pot codes (1378209) date to the ninth week of 1982; so given that information this would be one of the last Precisions out of the famed Fullerton factory. This Fender USA bass also features the early 1980s white cover Precision pickup. General consensus is that Fender USA was following the lead of the MusicMan Stingray Bass (also designed by Leo Fender) that for a short period of time used white pickup covers on their early instruments which were and still are very highly regarded. Showing some normal playing wear as expected on a P-Bass that is well over 30 years old, but definitely on the lighter side of normal. The pickguard has been replaced with a tortoiseshell repro guard and the pickguard screws are also new. Supplied with its original Fender hard shell case as pictured but one of the four latches is missing. Set up sweetly by our crew here at DMS with a brand new set of 45-105's and playing just as a solid Fender USA Precision should.
