For sale: Vintage 1987 Ibanez Custom FG-100 archtop guitar. This is a rare Ibanez guitar with special appointments. Beautiful Birdseye/curly maple top and back. Fabulous blonde color! Strong three piece maple neck with ebony fingerboard, and split position mark inlays made with of mother of pearl and abalone. Ebony Tailpiece. Original chrome tuners. Complete with sweet mellow sounding vintage Ibanez Super 58 pickups! The finish on the body looks greats. A few small scratches that are hard to capture in a picture. I had my luthier remove the hard finish from the neck and it's finished with a tung oil. This is the smoothest and fastest playing neck on any jazz archtop out there! Upgraded with Tusq nut and Gotoh tune-o-matic bridge. It has been refretted a few years ago with medium frets. It has been leveled and crowned recently and the frets have plenty of life in them. This guitar shows signs of use, however it is both collectors guitar and a players guitar. There are a couple of examples out there. I included a photo of guitarists Bruce Forman and Pat Metheny with their custom Ibanez FG-100s. Ibanez later used the molds of to manufacture Pat Methenys PM signature series guitars. Pickguard was removed and the holes filled in. Pickguard is included. Recently been setup for sale by my luthier with D'addario 11's (wound G-string). Action is low and plays fast. Includes original hardshell case.
