Description Brand: Gibson String Configuration: 6 String Model: Melody Maker Exact Year: 1965 Body Type: Solid Country/Region of Manufacture: United States Dexterity: Right-Handed
I ship Internationally.1965 Gibson Melody Maker. Thin mahogany body, double cutaway. This is the ideal Pat Travers starter kit! If I keep it, that is what I'm going to do. I'll sell the original parts and install 2 humbuckers and set about to Snortin' Whiskey and Drinkin' Cocaine! This is a sweet guitar that has retained it's deep cherry red finish. It also has the original Maestro Vibrola unit and compensated wraparound bridge. The only thing that has been changed are the tuners, and they were changed to a set of Gibson Klusons and no modifications were made to the headstock. It has a REALLY nice, beefy neck profile. It plays great and has a smooth, biting tone. There are no structural issues at all. It's in very nice condition. It's light and resonant. The pickup is actually pretty strong and has a lot of bite to it. There is some wear and checking, but it only adds to the overall visual appeal. The case is an older, small faux-brown case. I'm not sure if it is an original Gibson case. But, it fits the guitar perfectly and it's definitely old. It's a good match and looks great. It's fully intact, too!Feel free to ask any and all questions you may have. I'll be glad to answer them.
