Description

Uncle Lou here; and you're admiring an original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard. Before you ask, the answer is NO...this is not a one-piece top! For many years, this guitar affectionately known as 'Ralphie' was thought by some to have a one-piece top, but I assure you it doesn't. The flame is well-matched, with total coverage and moderate depth. The color has faded to a pale cherry-burst bordering on 'Iced Tea', but very pretty nonetheless. The overall condition is about an 8+ out of 10 with light checking and some belt scar in the waist area; someone played this Jimmy Page style! It's got a pretty beefy neck yet comfortable, and it's been re-fretted with jumbo wire so it plays like butter. It's had Schallers on it, but original tuners have been put back and the six extra screw holes have been filled. Both PAF's are double whites that read 9.3k ohms and 8.3k ohms, both covers have been removed and the missing one is in the case. The weight comes in at 9.25 pounds but it's well balanced and doesn't seem that heavy. Comes with an original 5-latch brown Lifton case. Please ask all reasonable questions before you bid, I will not accept returns. PayPal is the 'eBay preferred' method of payment, but on such an expensive item, I would require a $5,000 deposit paid immediately through PayPal, and the balance to be paid via direct deposit or 'payment on pickup'. Domestic delivery & handling fee is $500, and international delivery & handling is $1,500, but that money would be spent on a plane ticket...NO SHIPPING THIS GUITAR! Once again, an item this fragile and expensive should be hand-delivered by me or you. Under no circumstances should FedEx, UPS, DHL, or USPS be trusted with something like this; I won't take responsibility for their negligence...THIS MUST BE HAND-DELIVERED!!! Buyers who come to NYC to pick up this guitar will be refunded $500 for domestic travel costs, or $1,500 for international traveling costs. For those of you who need more visual stimulation, I have giant sized photos that I can e-mail you, but please don't waste my time or yours; serious inquiries only...no tourists. Thanks for looking and have a great day! PS. I also have another four '58-'60 bursts in stock starting at $250k-up...serious inquiries only please!!!
