Description

Up for sale is a 1940 Conn 8A Victor Slender Cornet, serial number 335116. The lacquer on this cornet is beautiful - a gorgeous dark brown patina. It is 98% present. In the photos will see a little corrosion along the bell wire of the bell, and I see two tiny pings on the body of the horn. Otherwise in excellent condition. The cornet was serviced by Mark Metzler, who flushed it, replaced corks and pads, aligned the valves, and reattached the first valve slide pull knob. The valves are smooth and fast, and compression is 100%. All mechanicals work as they should, and all nuts and end caps are present. This cornet is fun to play. Great intonation, slots notes well, projects well, and has a full, dark and creamy voice. Also included are a Conn 4 mouthpiece that looks brand new, and the original lyre. The case is in very nice condition and all of the latches work. International bidders – check with me prior to bidding to get shipping costs to your country.Check my other listings for several vintage horns, modern horns, and accessories for sale.
