A very beautiful and very rare lawsuit era, pre-serial number Ibanez Artist 2613 circa 1973 to 1975. The Artist line became one of the most prominent guitars made by Ibanez in numerous versions and configurations. This model features a beautiful lightly quilted contoured maple top, bound rosewood fretboard with pearloid inlays that are inlayed with black stars and diamonds. The frets show minor wear but still have lots of life. The body is beautifully bound with abalone. There are some barely visible cracks in the clearcoat at the neck pocket that look to be age related. The headstock has an ornate pearloid inlay. The neck itself is black. It also features a unique and somewhat rare terraced pick guard in white with one small scratch by the input jack. When one of these appears, the upper pick guard is often either missing or replaced with a standard aftermarket pick guard. The chrome pieces are in excellent condition. This particular combination of finishes seems to be very unique. There is light buckle rash and minor scuffs commensurate with its 40+ years of age but nothing major. Internet research discloses pictures of this model having pickups with Ibanez embossed on the covers that are not with this guitar. Overall a beautiful guitar that would easily qualify as a closet classic. Included original case has a minor separation and one hole in the plush lining but otherwise is in very good condition. The separation on the inside edge of the lid could be easily reglued. From a pet and smoke free environment. Blue tape on case is for inventory purposes only and will be removed prior to shipment.
