Description

Here we have a rare vintage Shergold Custom Masquerader made in February 1979 finished in Jimi Hendrix blond.
It's a derivative of a Jim Burns designed Heyman guitar.
Beautifully made and better than most 70's guitars, it feels like a Tele to play.
Much more versatile though with humbuckers each with a 3 way switch and a 3 way pick up selector.
So you have coil taps on both and out of phase to give an amazing range of tones.
Gorgeous maple neck with quite a flat radius fretboard.
Hardly any fretwear. The neck profile is a medium slim C.
The guitar has a lower action and features reliable German Schaller tuners.
As you can see there is plenty of lacquer cracking all over the body and a few dings commensurate with a 38 year old guitar.
This is natural and has created a lovely patina all over the guitar. This effect is very common with Shergolds.
A nice bonus is the presence of the original ash tray cover over the bridge. These normally get lost in the passage of time.
This is a fabulous example which is eminently playable with a very usable range of tones.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Will pack extremely well for transit.
