Up for sale, a 1971 Wurlitzer model 200 piano in exceptional condition and in good working order, with an extremely rare red top. This vintage electric piano has been well maintained and comes complete with the original chrome legs and sustain pedal. The 200 model is notable for having undeniably rich and chimey electric piano tone, with a bit more drive and a slightly different tonal color than the later 200A model, yet still retaining the classic Wurly smooth growl and midrange. The tone is defined and balanced, with an elegant action design that is simply a joy to play, with a responsive and smooth feel unlike any other electric piano. The vibrato control also has a nice pulse to it with a waveform that isn't too choppy, yet provides a very present tremolo effect. Professionally tuned and voiced, this piano is complete, undeniably cool, and ready for stage and studio work. This piano is in great shape, with little wear to the hammer tips, a very responsive damper rail, and action that is consistent and quick, with no sluggish notes or excessive side to side motion of the keys. The amplifier board has been upgraded to a Warneck Research EP200, and this circuit boasts extremely low noise output gain structure and an EQ curve that will take your breath away. For the sake of originality and completeness, the stock circuit board is also included and has been maintained and recapped while retaining the stock Mallory "tropical fish" capacitors. The original transformer dates to 1971. The internal speakers also sound particularly good and are a modern direct replacement pair of 5x7 alnico drivers courtesy of Vintage Vibe.Cosmetically, the piano is in truly fantastic shape with the rarest color available on a 200 top: Red. The real unicorn of the 200 series, the red top models are particularly uncommon and this is a very clean and crack-free example. The top is a shiny, deep shade of red and is complete with the original knobs and shiny chrome faceplate, which shows some light surface scratches, but no serious wear. The piano retains the original and minty metal serial number/model badge, and the bottom of the piano is extremely clean, remarkably so around the corners. This Wurlitzer has been extremely well cared for over the past 46 years and comes complete with the original sustain pedal and chrome legs!
