Immaculate made in Korea 17 inch jazz guitar. This is made from the most outrageously quilted maple – and not just the top, but the back and sides too. The workmanship throughout is superb. The LaSalle range is no longer in production and this is the rare and sought-after the top of the range model. New, these cost $1,400 and few were apparently imported to the UK.There is clear nod towards a certain large body US brand by the choice of colour and the use of thumb-nail fret markers and the inclusion of a Bigsby rather than the regular trapeze tailpiece. The result is a fantastic crossover between a Gr***ch and an L5 but a really versatile guitar than can cover any style and is a dream to play. I changed the volume and tone controls for speed knobs but I have the originals (heavy gold-plate brass controls - similar again to Gr***ch knobs) so I can swap them back if you prefer. A fellow eBayer has messaged that its actually more like the Gib**n Country Gent (but deeper bodied) and that it plays and sounds as good so that's a pretty good recommendation!
