For sale is a fantastic Japanese made Les Paul from Epiphone. Part of Epiphone's Elite series (later called the Elitist series), these guitars are the highest spec Epiphone Les Paul's ever made. They were manufactured in Japan's legendary Matsumoku factory with Gibson USA electronics. This guitar is from the first run of the Elite series and has Gibson stamped on the truss-rod cover as opposed to the later models that said Elitist. The pickups are custom wound by Gibson for this line of guitars specifically. Tonally they have a nice vintage LP sound to them, with a full and robust body to them but still very pronounced and present. The neck pickup is full and jazzy with great bass response, and the bridge pickup has a nice treble end to them without thinning out. When met with overdrive or distortion you easily conjure up absolutely classic rock and roll tones. This is a very easy playing instrument, the action is at 3/64th-5/64th at the 12th fret, the neck is a nice blend between Gibson's 50's and 60's shape so it is thin but not too thin and fits very comfortably in hand. The weight is 10 lbs. 10 oz. which is within the typical range for a Les Paul. Cosmetically this guitar is in very good to excellent condition, with some surface scratching and pick wear as well as a little bit of buckle rash and swirling along the back. Included with this instrument is the original hardshell case which is in great condition as well. This is a truly fantastic instrument, pound for pound just as good if not better than the majority of Gibson manufactured Les Paul's at half the price, a great bargain for an incredible guitar.
