1997 Squier Supersonic in silver sparkle finish. A beautiful guitar, that is becoming more and more sought after.  These models were part of the "Vista series" and only made between 1996-1998 in Japan. It was an attempt by Fender to create a unique Squier series to a high standard. The Supersonic features a reverse headstock and body, said to be inspired by a photo of Jimi Hendrix playing a Jaguar upside down. This guitar was crafted in Japan in August 1997.  The Supersonic really is a great, unique guitar. It's body is small and very light. This paired with the short scale makes for a very easy and comfortable guitar to play. The sparkle flake finish is awesome, where the gloss has aged it has an almost champagne gold tint in certain lights. It's definitely a looker.  The switches, pots and wiring have all been upgraded. The pickups have also been upgraded to Fender Atomic Humbuckers, (Fender actually used these pickups in the Pawn Shop reissues of the Mexican made Supersonic.) The original Squier pickups will be included in the sale.  There has been some routing done to the body to enable different pickup installation. Check the photos.  The guitar has been rewired to swap the two volume controls so that they are in the normal order. They were originally backwards with the control nearest the bridge being the bridge volume and the one furthest being the neck.  Cosmetically the guitar is great. But remember this is a 19 year old guitar so there are a few dings, marks and scuffs here and there. Because of the sparkle finish though, they are hard to see. I've photographed a few of the main marks so you can see the condition, I like people to know what they're buying. Have a good look at the photos and ask if you have any questions.
There is one mark on the neck where a scratch has been buffed out, this has unfortunately gone down to the wood finish. It's small, and smooth. I've photographed this next to my finger so you can see. It's only cosmetic and the neck does feel smooth. You could touch this up with a bit of lacquer or just leave it be. Some people pay extra for a bit of relic-ing right?! I've just strung the guitar with a set of Eric Johnson GHS Nickel Rockers, 11's. The extra tension of these strings really make the guitar feel more resonant and it seems to hold tune better this way.  The guitar will be packed well and sent in a hard case, the case is a little tatty on the outside but it does the job.
Collection is welcome, message me if you'd like to collect, otherwise I'm happy to ship to you. UK only please.  Thanks for looking.
