This listing is for an American Standard (modified) 1996 Fender Stratocaster, left handed. I bought this guitar new from Atlanta Rhythm City (now a Guitar Center Store). It is well played, as I was in a regional blues band in California at the time I bought it. Frets have some limited wear but are in very playable shape with no buzzing or high spots. The candy apple finish has some slight discoloration from age but no chipped or missing paint. The tonal adjustments are dead nuts on and the action is low and player friendly. I set up and adjust all of my guitars myself. I modified this guitar for very hot, high bias blues leads. It goes from fat rich neck tones to nose bleed highs from the the Hot Rails. Mix in the middle Hot Stack and you go from torching leads to quacking rhythms with a flick of the switch. Modified with: neck pickup vintage Semour Duncan Hot Rail ( I hand routed a Hot Stack cover to fit over the neck Hot Rail to keep the strings from catching under the pickup edge during an agressive pick attack) middle pickup Semour Duncan Hot Stack (All the quack but no noise or hum) bridge pickup Semour Duncan new series Hot Rail (edgy and very sensitive to pick attack) Graphtech graphite bridge saddles Schaller style strap locks and Fender Logo strap. The guitar has been temporarily hard-tailed. I tightened the springs and placed a small hardwood block inside, to keep the tremolo in a fixed position. (the hardwood block can be knocked out very easily and the springs re adjusted to fit your tremolo style. (I do not have the original trem handle, sorry) The guitar is set up for 10 thru 46 string sets. I do not have the original hardware or pickups. The case is pictured and is in good shape with a functioning tuner inside. I will pay expedited freight costs and insure the shipment for value. |
