I bought this guitar about 15 years ago and have enjoyed it. But, I have not touched it in several years. My wife says there are too many guitars. So this is one of several I am selling. I don't know the history prior to my ownership, but I have not modified the guitar in any way. You can see in the photos that this almost 40 year old guitar is a survivor. It appears to have been refinished at some point in the past. On a scale of 1 - 10 the refinish is a 7. There is noticeable wear on front and under the refinish on the back. The gold pickups and other gold finishes are faded and worn in spots and pitting in a few areas and on the tuning pegs. There is a crack in the finish on the front above the pickups. The wood is not cracking in any area. The finger board is in good condition and the frets have little wear. I suppose it could have been re-fretted, but if it was, it was an excellent job. There is no evidence of re-fretting. There is a ding that you can see in the photos on one edge of the body. The guitar plays well and I see no issues with the neck overall. The action is relatively low and I have experienced some fret buzz when I use a capo. The only other noted item is that it is vey sensitive to climate changes and may need to be re-tuned several times if you are playing where there are drastic temperature and humidity changes over several hours. I learned to re-tune after every break before we started the next set. If you are not familiar with the ES 347, there is an added switch to "split" the Gibson pickups to get something close to a single coil sound. This along with the tone controls allows a wide range of sounds. I have used this guitar with a Fender Twin Reverb to get a really full yet clean jazz sound and with a Mesa Boogie to get huge overdriven crunch. Whatever your style, this guitar can deliver. For anyone that chooses the "buy it now" option, I will include free shipping within the continental US.
