A Rare original Maroon Sparkle L-6S. With Gibson trying to market to the new Glam Rock genre, Gibson introduced a series of Sparkle finishes in the mid 1970s. While the L-6S and Grabber Bass Sparkle finishes usually fly under the radar we have had a few of these very Rare examples over the years. Gene Simmons most notably used a Grabber Bass in this same Maroon Sparkle Finish in the mid 1970s. We have heard a few names for this color and to my knowledge Gibson never gave it an official name. We have seen in a few neck pockets the words "Red Glitter" in black marker from the factory; however, the color in person is more of a Maroon/Burgundy transparent finish with a Glitter or Sparkle on top. This example displays some normal wear and tear but is all original. Slightly bent but functional G tuner. Get the finish under the lights and the Glitter just dances. Included is the original hardshell case.
