Yamaha SG 500 (First Issue, Translucent Red, 1975/6, Museum condition with case)Selling off from my Elite Vintage Guitars collection my Yamaha SGs, so here on offer a rare vintage 1975/6 ist issue red Yamaha SG 500 Serial number 1335, embossed in the headstock; This SG-500 was the first production run after the discontinuation of the famous SG-175 and SG-90. Yamaha introduced the SG 500 as part of the new line up along with the SG700, 1000, 1500 and famous SG-2000. This is a truly great electric guitar with a good solid feel, despite the fair weight, it plays light and fluid and has been set up with low action....The guitar is 40 years old, all original and despite its age and has only some minor genuine patina and play wear, and has a definite vintage vibe and oozing mojo.
These Yamahas were made since 1976 and in either translucent red or black. These are good solid guitars, although less well known than the more famous Yamaha SG 2000 and SG 1000. However, anyone who wants a Yamaha SG and does not want to fork out a "Kings Ransom" will be pleasantly surprised by this guitar.
