Nowadays there are many companies that make their living building new instruments that look, feel and sound as if they just arrived via Marty McFly's Delorean. This K-Line Springfield is a shining example of that craft. Chris Kroenline is a master builder from St. Louis who's artwork has landed in the venerable hands of players like Walter Becker, John Scofield, Guthrie Trapp and Steve Miller. Right off the bat this guitar passed the "acoustic" test, where the natural resonance of the instrument compares to other elite boutique guitars. Plugged into our Bassman, the Klein Jazzy Cats pickups shine brightly. They are fairly punchy pickups with pronounced mids, shimmering highs and percussive lows. The in-between positions bring plenty of vintage quack, but they are strong enough to knock out bluesy riffs as well. The bridge pickup is nothing to be afraid of, and produces lots of bite but without the top end getting too piercing. The neck on the Springfield is a generous a 'classic C' shape with a 1-5/8" wide nut. It's tinted nitro lacquer finish maple neck with Indian rosewood fretboard feels silky smooth and less sticky than a gloss poly neck. And the finish and polish of the 21 vintage style frets is first class. K-Line necks have earned a solid reputation for their easy playing and innovative neck pocket design. K-Line's precision pocket and neck angle is designed to optimize break angle, intonation and playing tension. Combined with a Wilkinson tremolo bridge, the Springfield is super resonant and rock solid. Overall, this dusty Surf Green beauty is sonically and visually satisfying. It has a softened look to give it the appearance of age, but without any wear, tear or faux aging. And the tones are textbook with great depth, clarity and authenticity. Don't miss your opportunity to get this mint K-Line at a super price.Orders received by 12:00EST will be shipped the next day. All guitars are setup and tested prior to shipment
