This is a 1938 Epiphone Emperor. It was professionally serviced prior  to my purchasing it. The specifications are as follows.  1939 EMPEROR - 18.5 in. body with carved spruce top, multi-bound f-holes, raised bound pickguard, multi-bound body, maple back/sides/neck, carved  back, 14/19-fret bound fingerboard with mother of pearl split block inlay, adjustable ebony bridge Frequensator tailpiece, bound peghead with pearl  vine/logo inlay, three-per-side gold tuners, finished in Cremona Brown  Sunburst finish.  As was explained to me, the binding was all but nonexistent in some places. (This is common of most guitars of this era.) It was totally rebound. There are a couple of cracks as seen in the pictures that were glued and had cleats applied. At the same time the guitar was completely cleaned and some finish was added in some areas. I do not know where because I had not seen the guitar before it was sent out. I was told it was just a finish augmentation not a complete refinish. The tuning machines have been replaced, and the binding, but as far as I know the rest of the guitar is original.
