For sale is my beautiful Gibson Dark Fire First Production Run guitar, serial no DF 0930. The Gibson factory checklist (included) shows the date May 09. It is in excellent condition and, with one small blemish,  has no playwear whatsoever, not even shirt button marks on the back. Except for a small mark on the neck pickup (which I’ll get back to in a second) it would be collector’s condition.  I am the second owner. The first owner bought it at Musgroves here in Perth and used it for studio work. When I bought it it was because it is in my view the most gorgeous Les Paul made - the colour is stunning and the carbon look pickups, black binding and fret markers set it off brilliantly. To be honest, I played with the tuning system for a while (fascinating watching it tune itself!) but couldn’t get into the other stuff.  I play it as a ‘normal’ guitar, (just plug it into the amp), and it’s like, well, a Gibson, not surprisingly. I’m not all that interested in the electronics or studio recording so that side of it is a bit wasted on me - it needs a home where someone wants to figure out how it all works and use it. Never gigged or even been out of my house, and the same for the previous owner. The scratch on the pickup is shown in one of the photos. It’s invisible unless you get close, but I thought I would mention it anyway. It looks like the low E string has made contact with the pickup at some point. Not now though, I’ve had it set up and it’s good to go - all the electronics work and it’s ready for you to sit down with it and make it do its magic. Or you can do what I do and just play it like a normal guitar, which it is quite happy to do! I won’t attempt to explain the sounds and settings that this guitar has available or any of the other capabilities of the Dark Fire (I have no idea, to be quite honest), but there is a lot on YouTube Anyway, if  you’re looking at this then I assume you know what the Dark Fire is - P-90H pickup at the neck, Burstbucker 3 at the bridge and a piezo bridge pickup. Then there’s the Chameleon Tone Technology. Mahogany chambered body, ebony fingerboard, double black binding, nitrocellulose finish, deep deep red glossy colour. This is a great looking, playing and sounding guitar. Includes the Robot Interface Pack and other electronic bits that come with it as shown in the photos, plus the original and almost unused white hard shell case (a few grubby fingermarks, but what do you expect with a white case, even when it just sits in a cupboard). I’m trying to clear some of my less used guitars in my collection so that I can buy some more. I can’t remember what I paid for it but it was quite expensive.I’ll start the bidding as low as I will let it go for. If it doesn’t sell then I’ll happily keep it and sell a different guitar instead. Advertised elsewhere, so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it is sold prior.Postage is whatever it costs me. I use Pack and Send and you should figure on about $100. If you're from round here, pick up is fine.
