Fender 1962 Stratocaster AVRI in Ice Blue Metallic. Hi, You are looking at my 62 reissue Strat. A stunning example purchased from new back in 2010 in the now discontinued IBM Plays and sounds stunning. It's a clichéd thing to say but it sounds like a Strat (as it should do). A proper sixties sounding guitar. Very bright and chimey. Almost reedy at times. Think Stones and Hendrix rather than Mayer and SRV. The neck is a joy to play. Shallow C profile with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard. The Neck is dead straight and set up with a low action that doesn't choke out (not always the easiest thing to achieve on 7.25 radius). I have been setting guitars up for 15+ years professionally. It's very light and a joy to play on a strap for hours. I have swapped the original three way out for an official Fender USA five way and wired the middle pick up tone control to the bridge pick up (The Eric Johnson Mod). The guitar show no sign of fret wear and has been really well looked after. Stored in its case when not being used. I still have the case candy except for the strap but I will include one with the guitar. When I purchased this guitar I was looking for a Custom Shop version but this AVRI blew all the CS models available out of the water. The guitar has got a couple of small dinks. The one that's most noticeable is on the top horn but even that one is tiny. The thin skin Nitro finish does mark easily but allows the wood to resonate and the finish to age well. I am only selling as I have recently started my own business up and require a couple of expensive tools. So sadly a few luxury items need to go to add to the funds. It was a tough decision to part with this guitar. I'm not going to give it away for a song as it is a fantastic example of a reissue Fender. No swaps or trades. Silly offers will be ignored.
