Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang Fiesta Red MIJ U-Serial (2010-11)Awesome sounding Kurt Cobain Fender Mustang in Fiesta Red from 2010-11 (MIJ U Serial). She is a real looker with some really nice maple grain and flame down the neck. The rosewood fingerboard is also unusually dark and dense for a Mustang. It looks great. Fender designed this to the specs of Kurt’s Mustang with the tune-o-matic (or as Fender like to call it: adjust-o-matic) bridge & SD bridge humbucker. It otherwise retains the vintage ’69 specs inc. the contoured body, 7.25 neck radius, vintage style frets & 24” scale length etc. One other thing I love about this one is Fender chose to build the body from alder, rather than poplar or basswood (which by the way, are both fine tonewoods), which leads to some great resonance & sustain for a ‘stang. Pre-owned but in beautiful condition throughout. I think she was hardly played by the looks of it. No chips, dents, dings or scratches. It even still has the film on the white 3-ply perloid pickguard. Truss rod fine, neck dead straight & I can see no wear in the frets. Complete with trem arm and gig bag. A great chance to get you hands on a super clean Fiesta Red Cobain stang.
