This is a Hofner J17-HCT-SB, top quality, Hollow bodied, Archtop, Jazz Guitar.Specifically designed with the `50s Rock `n Roll era in mind, and based on the larger Gibson Guitars of that era. This model is from around 2010 / 2011. It has a large body, just over 16 1/2" across the lower bout, and a depth of 3 1/4". It has a beautiful tone, and lovely smooth playing action, with an adjustable chrome `Saddle` bridge, on a Rosewood base. This Guitar was bought as a spare, directly from the US (it has the US market features on it, such as the Cream coloured control knobs),....... I have 1 of these that I play regularly, and it is UN-beatable!, largely due to its solid, quality construction, and the Gibson Humbucker pick-ups. You don't see many of these available now, especially with the early Gibson style Tortoise shell pick guard, with Gibson style binding, and the ornate Chrome `fixed` Tailpiece (Included, but not fitted!). As mentioned above, I had the opportunity, so bought this Guitar, NEW, as a spare, being incredibly happy with the one I already had, and use..... I am now selling, due to the fact that my original 1 is so reliable, and solid, that I can really let this one go, as I have put my sensible head on,..... I also have too many anyway!!. This is in the Dark `Tabacco` Sunburst finish, with Cream control knobs, Chrome strap buttons, & a lovely `Tiger` effect in the finish on the back. I have played this guitar literally, on & off, for a couple of hours at the very most. And it is in `as new` condition, with its original Brown Hofner Hardshell , plush lined case, (this case has a scratch to the top of the lid, please see the photo). I have fitted a B6 Bigsby vibrato tailpiece to it, (as I have with my other one), and it works a treat!. I have added a waterslide Pin-up Girl transfer to the body, but this is easily removed, without a trace (I can do this if requested). The rosewood base of the bridge, has also been `Pinstriped` with an Atomic Star at either end, by a very good, talented friend of mine, as a mild `custom`..... BUT, I can replace this with a correct, clean, unmarked base if preferred. It has its original `Contemporary series` Truss rod cover. and chrome backed tuning keys, with hard plastic, screwed in Key heads.
