Here's a rare guitar - a Gretsch Silver Jet from 1965. The Silver Jet model 6129 was officially discontinued in 1963. However, you could order a Duo Jet (normally black) in custom color finishes. This was very rarely done.This example is in nice overall condition. The neck has been reset, which is very common with this model. Normal shrinkage of the silver sparkle top. This was actually plastic drum wrap material, not paint. A couple of the tuner shafts are slightly bent. Normal handling/play wear, some checking, and some "bronzing" of the sparkle at the cutaway. This is typical stuff you would see with a vintage Gretsch guitar.Playability and sound are amazing. This might be my favorite Gretsch after more than 25 years of buying and selling them. It has THAT sound. Playability is easy, and the action is nice and low. The original small frets have been expertly leveled, and it is ready to gig.Serial number is scratched into one of the back plates, which was common for this era. No internal label, and no evidence that one ever existed. This was a special order guitar, remember.The original case is also in nice overall condition..
