Up for sale is this gorgeous 1992 '59 Les Paul reissue with a fantastic flame maple top.   I believe these are originally called "flame top reissues" from the "pre-historic" era. 1959 reissues were marked with a handwritten "LPR" in the neck pick up cavity, while the 1960 reissues were marked LPR6. This one has "LPR." Not also how the first number of the serial number is a "2", just how they did it in the early 90s until they changed all 1959 reissues to have the first digit as "9". As can be seen in the pictures, this guitar features a fantastic flame maple top with a gorgeous heritage cherry Sunburst finish.  I've also added some pictures in a rather bad lighting (my kids bedroom) to show you that the flame pattern is not just a result of picture manipulation. These should complement the glamour shots while still showing off the maple top. The neck is quite a bit slimmer than your typical 59 profile, but this was not uncommon as they were not making these guitars to exact 59 specs back in the day. Frets are in excellent shape, with very little wear.  Overall, the guitar is in excellent condition, with only minor play wear. Just a handful of small dings here and there and light scratches on the finish. All the components on the guitar appear to be original, except for perhaps the tuner bushings. It looks like this guitar at one time had different tuners on it, and the holes were reamed out to accommodate a larger shaft. The originals are back on there. They function as they should, although it may benefit from a new set of tuners or at least new bushings.  The only other issue is that the guitar looks to have a slight "neck hump" near where the fretboard moves onto the top of the body.  Thus, the angle of the fretboard changes very slightly when it meets the body.  This is worth mentioning to give a full description of the instrument, but it does not  effect the play of the instrument.
The guitar weighs exactly 9 lbs on my home digital scale.  An exact mailing scale weight can be obtained upon requires.   The pick ups have patent applied for stickers on the back, but they are obviously reproductions that came stock with this model.  They sound incredible and are definitely up to snuff as far as classic Les Paul tones go. The guitar plays and sounds awesome, and comes with the original hard case. There is no paperwork, as I do not believe they were issuing COAs at this time. The case is in very good condition, with a little handling wear.  It has a leather handle that is attached to the case by two metal brackets.  A small nut and bolt has been used to repair a broken fastener on one of the brackets.   Note: first few photographs of the flame maple top were taken in direct sunlight.
The price is $3199.99.
