Here is a "Hybrid" spec-build guitar from H.E.L. It is a Hybrid because the body was not built by H.E.L., it was purchased from LEF guitars in New Mexico, thus, you may have seen this shape before. This is the ONLY guitar of this design that will ever be built by H.E.L., it started out as a personal project, however, while I love it, I need to clear out inventory. The body is 1.5" thick made of flamed Sapele with a quilted Makore top. The neck is a five piece Black Limba and walnut set in type with a long body extension for a secure join. Tuners are Hipshot USA. The fingerboard is 12-16 compound radius, 25" scale, 24fret Macassar Ebony with flamed maple binding and Paua Abalone side markers. Frets are jumbo Jescar Stainless Steel and play like bending on wet glass! Bridge is a locking Tone Pros TP6 One difference in construction from similar LEF guitars is that the neck has been set at a 3 degree angle, giving an over the body bridge height of about .675" for a standard Tune-O-Matic. Thus this guitar is going to have a more Gibby/Hamer feel to it than one with no neck angle and a recessed T-O-M. The guitar weighs in at about 6.5 lbs, extremely light for an explorer! Paint is House of color Black Burst and Clear, then topped with clear polyester for scratch resistance and durability. And it's gorgeous! Pickups are hardwired and direct mounted EMG 81/85 set with a Mallory 150 tone capacitor. Pickups can be changed to a set of Seymore Duncan's at time of sale at no additional charge, but the guitar will wait to ship until the new pickups have arrived and are installed. It comes with an SKB hardshell case. The guitar is warranted against defects in manufacturing, fretwork, etc, however returns are not accepted. If we did it, we will fix it!!!
