Up for sale, a 2007 Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium acoustic electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Featuring a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides, this Taylor captures the bright, chiming, and full tone of Taylor instruments at a very attractive price point. With the same Expression System (ES1 series) pickup used across Taylor's product line, this high quality magnetic pickup system is seamlessly integrated for a tone that reproduces the nuance and detail of the instrument's acoustic sound. The body shape is equally suited to fingerpicking or strumming, and the Grand Auditorium shape features a full 16" lower bout and 4 5/8" body depth. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with 12-53 phosphor bronze strings, there are few guitars that can beat the 114ce for great reliability, quality tone, and easy playability.The sapele neck has a comfortable and fairly slim C shaped profile paired with a rosewood fretboard and slender fret wire. The neck is straight, the truss rod is responsive, and the frets are in great shape, showing only light wear on the plain strings on frets 1-3 and virtually no wear up the neck. On the headstock, the Taylor logo is inlaid on the rosewood veneer, and the chrome tuning machines turn smoothly.The Expression System controls all work as they should, with a fresh 9V battery and discreet, low-profile controls for Volume, Treble, and Bass on the bass side of the body adjacent to the neck joint. The deep Venetian cutaway allows for easy access to the highest frets, and the cutaway shape is mirrored by the tortoise pickguard. All braces are secure and the guitar is crack-free.
