Hopf Saturn 63 1960s Semi-hollow body archtop from Hopf called the Saturn 63, This guitar was perhaps the most successful guitar from the German manufacturer. It features a carved spruce top and maple back, two teardrop sound holes with chrome binding, a unique red-burst finish, a smooth tremolo tailpiece and a rocker mounted adjustable bridge. The "futuristic", space-age design was inspired by the early 1960's era of exploration off of the Earth. The unique look of this model, with its metal piping for binding on the body and f-holes, got the guitar a starring role in an advertisement for the famous "Star Club" in Hamburg. Robert Smith of the Cure played one of these in his 1992 video, "Friday I'm In Love". In excellent condition with the expected signs of use. Includes ritter gigbag.Model Features:Body shape Double Cut Body Maple Top Spruce Finish Red Burst Neck Maple Neck Shape C Fretboard Rosewood Fretboard Radius 12" Bridge compensated Tailpiece Tremolo Scale Length 620mm (24 7/16") Nutwidth 42mm (1 5/8") Weight 3.1kg Tuners Schaller (upgrade) Pickups 2 original single coils Travels in Ritter gigbag Remarks Used guitar with 1 year guarantee
